Pic unrelated, saw it in a parking lot the other day.

Quite a lot I *can't* tell you about this one, due to replaced lights, under-door sills, etc. and the fact it's a rear view. Looks like Selectro or AVM hubs, and probably a deluxe hood. That would suggest the rebuild which took place (rear crossmember's fresh, rear bed's been off, Defender door hinges, etc.) probably took place around a decade ago, but that's not certain.

AVM hubs were *the* cheap new front locking hub about 8-10 years ago, and the under-sill rock sliders haven't been around more than probably 15-20. If those hubs are Selectro, I think they quit about ten years ago, and that plastic rear light kit has been available I think for only ten or so. Hence why I have a set of suspicions about when it was redone - probably not more than ten years ago, probably not less than maybe 5.

I was the younger of two, and I think during the first year or two of three of us we moved to using the '74 Benz 240D much more extensively than the Rover. Number four precipitated the getting of a Suburban. (I was about five-six when we mostly quit driving the Rover).

I've put people in the back of my 88, which has buckets unlike the benches in my dad's. Reduced head knocking in favor of seats too close together across the aisle - knee knocking. Okay for maybe as many as three-four kids, but anyone with full size legs back there cuts it realistically to two.

Stodgy, very stodgy, but felt like a tank. Very similar overall feel to the W123 diesel 240D, but unlike the W-123 the W115 had a skis hole between the rear seats like a volvo.
